Then the king said, “Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of God?”- 2 Samuel 9:3
David said, “As for Mephibosheth,” said the king, “he shall eat at my table like one of the king’s sons.”- 2 Samuel 9:11
The Story of King David and Mephibosheth, is the story of our lives. Just like David wants to find and remind any member of the royal family that there is royalty in them; there is a king in them, God has sent me to tell all (the blood bought, born again, children of God) that there is a king in you. Yes, there is royalty running in your veins. Now Mephibosheth was born into royalty, but how did you and I obtain royal status in life? God, in His grace, sent His Son Jesus, to show kindness to you, by saving you and making you the righteousness of God (See 2 Corinthians 5:21 and Romans 5:17). Jesus has saved you, giving you the position of kings and priest in the world. Rev. 1:5-6 states, that “Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth… has loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, [6] and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father…” Yes, you need to know that royalty is running in your veins. You need to know that there is a king in you!
Satan does not want you to know this. Satan wants you to live in defeat, to live in poverty, lack, and want! But God, sent me to tell you today, that you don’t belong in your sins. You don’t belong defeated and disconnected from the Father. You don’t belong in bondage or darkness. You don’t belong on drugs, or alcohol. God sent me to tell you, “That your life is not worthless or insignificant. You are somebody! You are the Righteousness of God- You are a chosen generation- You are a Royal Priesthood- You are a Holy Nation- You are God’s own special people. You are called out of darkness into His Marvelous light, so that you can show forth His praises, give Him glory and honor every chance you get! (1 Peter 2:9). But the devil does not want you to know who you really are.
This is why the devil wants to keep you deceived and misinformed, because He knows once you get a revelation of who you are in Christ, you will never be defeated by him again! So I say to you today that if you are saved, there is a king in you!
Yes, saints, this is who you are. You have royal authority. His anointing in you to triumph over every situation; every circumstance; every problem; every setback; every struggle; and every stumbling block! Because of what and whoyou have in you, no devil in hell can stop your plan or block your progress! So speak to yourself and say, “Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the World!” (1 John 4:4). You must decree and declare, “There is a King in Me!” Jesus, the anointed one lives in me.”
Oh Mephibosheth, oh Saint, oh child of the King, because there is a king in you, you have access to everything that the kingdom has to offer! You have access to every Blessing- every ounce of Mercy- every means of Grace- every Gift- every Promise- and every Provision! Yes, YOU have access to the abundance of His Grace; His Peace; His Love; His Joy; His Power; His Anointing!
And like Mephibosheth, you can eat at the King’s table as one of His sons all the days of your life. You can come boldly to the throne of Grace all the days of your life! Why – because there is a king in you!
Confession: Lord Jesus, I thank You that because of Your grace, I am made the righteousness of God. I have royal authority. I reign in life. I am the head and not the tail. I am above and not beneath. I am a lender and not a borrower. I have access to all that the Fathers has! There is a king in me! Amen.
